Different types of birth control pills work differently for each person. Your choice may depend on convenience, lifestyle, and medical suitability.
Mira (a progestogen-only pill) is not suitable for everyone. You should not take Mira if:
You are allergic to desogestrel or any other ingredient in Mira.
You have hormone-sensitive cancers, such as breast, ovarian, or uterine (endometrial) cancer.
You have or have had jaundice or severe liver disorders, and blood tests show your liver function has not returned to normal.
You have an active blood clot in your legs (deep vein thrombosis – DVT) or lungs (pulmonary embolism – PE).
You experience unexplained bleeding between periods or after sex—this should be checked by a doctor.
You are pregnant or think you may be pregnant.
If you are unsure whether Mira is right for you, speak to a healthcare professional before starting the pill.
